Lamppost Bistro
How we helped an established restaurant bring its food, atmosphere, and staff to life online, with two videos reaching over 27 million and 2 million views within two months.
Lamppost was already an established, well trusted bistro. Customers knew it for its food, atmosphere, and the people who made dining there an experience.
But its Instagram wasn’t giving people the same feeling they got when they walked through the door.
Instagram had been a side part of the business rather than a consistently managed channel. The food, the waiters, and the restaurant’s personality weren’t getting the attention they deserved online.
Our challenge was to translate that in person experience into content, giving new customers a reason to visit and existing customers a reason to come back.
We took over Lamppost’s Instagram and built a consistent flow of weekly videos around the restaurant’s food, drinks, desserts, and staff.
The goal was to make people feel something beyond seeing a nice plate of food. We brought the workers into the content, giving viewers familiar faces to connect with and a better sense of the personality behind the service.
Together, those videos gave followers a fuller picture of Lamppost: what they could order, what the atmosphere felt like, and who would be welcoming them.
Within two months, one video reached over 27 million views, and another surpassed 2 million. Alongside the recurring weekly content, the account’s view count grew to more than 30 times its previous level.
That attention carried into the restaurant, with customers coming in every day mentioning the viral videos.
Lamppost was staying on people’s minds between visits. Its Instagram now gave customers a stronger visual connection to the menu and an emotional connection to the staff, before they even sat down.
